The inkwell has five small holes for the placement of a quill, and this example comes with a modern quill for display or even use.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe inkwell retains the very rare glass insert which would have held the ink. The insert has some small hairline cracks as shown but is in greta shape overall.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe inkwell itself measures 3” in diameter and is about 2” tall. The middle section has three raised bands as shown.
