The blade is wide, double edged, and 13 3\/4\" in length, which has a ridge down its center and is over 2 1\/4\" wide at the hilt. The handle and scabbard are both fully metal clad on the obverse, with the reverse of the grip showing some of the underlying wood. The ;front and top are covered in ornate embossed and filigree designs, made from silver and brass.
