Only One Available. Gun maker JEAN DUBOIS worked in SEDAN in Northern France from 1633 to 1670. This pistol dates from the 1660's judging by the shape of the Butt Cap. The Lock is engraved with decorative scroll work including a very faint Maker's signature, but it is unmistakably that of Jean Dubois. The Flintlock hammer is most distinctive to this maker and an almost identical one is featured in \u003cem\u003eTHE FLINTLOCK\u003c\/em\u003e by TORSTEN LENK, page 28, published 1965, and he is listed in \u003cem\u003eSTOCKEL VOLUME ONE\u003c\/em\u003e Page 310 as working for those dates.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe mounts are all of plain iron, and although this was not a High-Art Pistol of that time, it was clearly the possession of some Aristocratic household.\u003cbr\u003eMeasuring 18 1\/2\" overall with an 11\" barrel the pistol comes complete with it's ramrod.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAn early French Pistol from the time of KING LOUIS 14TH.
