German M42 SS Allgemeine Schutzstaffeln Black Parade Helmet
New Made Item: This is a fantastic replica German WW2 SS parade helmet painted in satin black with early pattern SS symbol on the right-hand side and the national swas on the left-hand side. Germany entered WWII with the M-35 helmet as standard issue (WW1 M-16 & M-18 helmets were also in use). In 1942, Due to wartime demands, the M-42 design was put into production because it was significantly quicker to manufacture. The rolled edge of the M-35 shell was eliminated, creating an unfinished edge along the rim. This edge flared out slightly, along the base of the skirt. The elimination of the rolled edge expedited the manufacturing process and reduced the amount of metal used in each helmet, without sacrificing protection. This new collector grade reproduction helmet is heavy gauge steel (same weight as an original) has a satin black finish, correct period leather adjustable liner with leather chin strap. Shell size is large and liner can be adjusted to fit US sizes 7 to 7 5/8 (57-61 cm).
Note: These helmets are spray painted to order by hand, field repaint style with cardboard covering the liner. This means that there can be overspray on the liner sometimes, and that there may be drips, orange peel, or other imperfections in the paint. The decals are also applied by hand, and sometimes may have ripples or edge chipping. Due to painting and drying times these may take several business days before shipment.
