History tells that the use of Alcohol is always widespread in wartime. A little "Dutch Courage" certainly helped when going "over the top" in the face of enemy Machine Guns. However, it is also sadly true that Military Authorities were not generous and these Pewter Measures were essential when "cutting? Military Issue Rum with water to dilute the rum when given to the unfortunate Tommie?s who were being asked to possibly make the ultimate sacrifice for their Country. On offer is a very rare pair of Original British Military Marked and WW1 Dated Pewter Rum Measures together with an Original WW1 era British Military Issue Ceramic Rum Jug making a desirable WW1 Collectible Set.
