Original U.S. Percussion Musket with Trade Lock by Ashmore and Springfield Musket Barrel c. 1835

Regular price $595.00

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This just came out of the attic after a hundred years of storage, together with a couple of hundred other guns. It is a full stocked Trade Musket, made using a trade lock by R. ASHMORE of ENGLAND, as marked on the lock plate over WARRANTED. The stock marked with the name E.BUELL, which may very well be the owner or the U.S. Gunsmith who created this most attractive Musket around 1835.

The barrel is 39 1/2 inches long, and actually is originally from a Springfield Flintlock Musket, and has the usual P / Eagle's Head / V proof marks on the breech. It has had a cap lock bolster added into the touch hole. The musket's overall length is 55" and it is easy to see that such a weapon could easily have also seen service in some Militia outfit too.

Most attractive and in tight shape, ready to display!
