Original Item: Only One Available. We just received this lovely Antique Converted musket, along with about 200 other guns, from a collection that sat in an attic for close to 100 years. This was a German Military Musket made at Niese in 1830 as marked on the lock plate. Originally made as a flintlock, it was then converted to percussion and most likely shipped to the United States in time for the Civil War. Surplus flintlock muskets in Europe were converted to percussion, as both sides were only using the percussion cap system by that time.
After its war service, the musket was converted for Civilian use as a "Sporter" by half-stocking the wood stock, which still its original Flintlock brass mounts. Barrel measures 41" and overall the gun measures 56". Comes complete with a replacement stained wooden ram rod.

Any attempt at restoring an antique gun to be operational is strongly discouraged and is done so at the risk of the customer.
