Original Item: Very Few Available. These are Genuine French WWI OF1 Egg Hand Grenades, offered in fair to good condition. Known officially as the offensive n°1 (OF1), these grenades were manufactured between 1915 and 1917. The detonator would be screwed inside the upper hemisphere, whose complex forming needed that part to be stamped in a higher quality thin plate, while the lower cap could be made in a more common grade thin plate. They featured a bursting radius 38 feet. Each is offered totally inert without internal fuse or explosives. All retain some original paint and will show corrosion and age.
These are rare with one of the few known examples in the permanent collection of the West Point Military Museum. A perfect addition to any Great War Collection.
