Original USAF Cold War 1960s Named Experimental Test Sample L-2 Flight Jacket and Flying Uniform

Item Description

Original Items: One-of-a-kind. Named to Colonel R.W. Halliday, these are early 1960s dated Experimental Test Samples of the L-2 jacket an flight uniform. The most rare of all the U. S. flying jackets and uniforms are the Experimental Test Samples. Experimental Test Samples are the first jackets produced when a new jacket type is being studied for selection to become a production garment, thus every flying jacket started its life as an Experimental Test Sample. The Test Samples can exist in many forms and colors, and with features and fabric and hardware variations that are quite different from the production jackets that the enthusiast and collector would be more familiar with.
