Original Item: Only One Available. This is a lovely example of a genuine French 18th or early 19th century 8.5 inch diameter hollow mortar bomb. The mortar is iron and has no markings we could find. The ball measures approximately 8.5 inches in diameter with a 27 inch circumference and weight approximately 45 LBS.
Overall condition is good with areas of heavy pitting and previous rust which has been eradicated. A very rare hard to find piece that dates from the American Revolution or Napoleonic Wars! A great display piece for over the fireplace.
