Original Item: Only One Available. Now this is a lovely example of a mid-Victorian era police “Bobby” billy club truncheon. The club itself is a beautiful curved example with a large painted coat of arms of Queen Victoria. Underneath this is a very worn date which we believe to read 1863. Under this is a monogrammed set of initials, TC. It does have a beautiful matured look to it with signs of use but does have some heavy paint loss and material damage. The curvature of the truncheon is likely from age and was not like this originally.
The truncheon measures 17¼” long and as mentioned does have a large curve to its shape. There are no maker markings we can find. This is one of the earlier truncheons we have offered!
