Original French Napoleonic 1st Empire Officers Percussion Pistol converted from Flintlock

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This nice pistol probably started life as a Flintlock pistol for an Officer circa 1810 and later, perhaps 1830 being converted to the Percussion ignition system. This was a common practice as the time, as the time and cost of conversion was far less than a new weapon.

It is fitted with an 8" smooth bore barrel of approximately .65 bore and measures 14" in overall length. The pistol is fitted with a fine Walnut stock, checkered at grip with all brass mounts including Butt Cap, Trigger guard and nose cap. There are no external markings, as these were often removed at time of conversion. Still retains its original steel ram rod.

In nice condition, already over 200 years old fully cleaned and ready to display.
