Original U.S. Colt M4 AR-15 "Rubber Duck" All Rubber Molded Training Carbine - 34" long

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice Colt Early Pattern M4 / AR-15 Military & Police issue non-functional RUBBER DUCK training and parade rifle. Unlike the usual ones we see, this example is made entirely from molded hard rubber / resin, so there are no original parts used in the construction.

The military calls these rifles Rubber Ducks. This is an actual military or police issue trainer designed to be the correct weight and size of an M4. The red color was most likely used so that it could not be confused with the real thing. These usually have markings like the original, but they were not used in the mold for this item, except for the safety selector markings. There is a number 15 scratched into the back of the shoulder stock, probably an inventory number.

Condition is very good, with some wear from use in the expected areas. There also has been black emery style grip material added around the magazine well, probably to make it easier to hold onto with gloved hands.

As these were training items, most likely it was produced sometime in the 1990s. Ready to display!

The M16 rifle, officially designated Rifle, Caliber 5.56 mm, M16, is a United States military adaptation of the ArmaLite AR-15 rifle. The original M16 was a select-fire, 5.56×45mm rifle with a 20-round magazine.

The M4 carbine is a shorter and lighter variant of the M16A2 assault rifle. The M4 is a 5.56×45mm NATO, air-cooled, direct impingement gas-operated, magazine-fed carbine. It has a 14.5 in (370 mm) barrel and a telescoping stock.

The M4 carbine is extensively used by the United States Armed Forces and is largely replacing the M16 rifle in United States Army and United States Marine Corps combat units as the primary infantry weapon and service rifle.

The M4 is also capable of mounting the M203 and M320 grenade launchers. The distinctive step in its barrel is for mounting the M203 with the standard hardware. The M4 has semi-automatic and three-round burst firing modes (like the M16A2 and M16A4), while the M4A1 has semi-automatic and fully automatic firing modes (like the M16A1 and M16A3).
