Original German WWII Training Model 39 Egg Hand Grenade Eihandgranate - Inert

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This is an extremely rare excellent example of a practice training M1939, M39, or "Eierhandgranate39" German Egg Grenade, offered in good condition. Training grenades are nearly impossible to find, as by early 1943 production of practice grenades had stopped. They were also considered disposable, and as they were harmless often ended up being used as toys.

This example still has some of the original red paint present, though much has flaked off due to the surface corrosion. The dummy fuze is still present, and still screws out of the grenade body.

A great opportunity to add an extremely rare training grenade to your collection. Ready to display!

The Model 39 Eihandgranate (or Eierhandgranate, "egg hand grenade") was a German hand grenade introduced in 1939 and produced until the end of World War II. The Eihandgranate used the same fuse assembly (the BZE 39) as the Model 43 Stielhandgranate ("Stick Grenade"), which was screwed into the top of the sheet-metal body. To activate, the domed cap was unscrewed, and the pull-cord that had been coiled inside it was tugged sharply before throwing at the target.
