Item Description
Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice German WWII Era Cased Presentation "Table Medal", a large award usually displayed on a shelf or table, as the name implies. The medal itself measures about 80mm in diameter, and is 5mm thick, made of die struck zinc alloy. It comes in a very nice satin and velvet lined case measuring about 4 1/2" square, with a functional hinge and lock.
The front of the metal shows two bare-chested men on either side of a robed woman, who is holding laurel leaves. The reverse is marked with the following statement:
FÜR LANGJÄHRI:
GE MITARBEIT
IM DIENSTE DER
PFÄLZISCHEN
WIRTSCHAFT
This roughly translates to " For long years of service in cooperation with the Palatinate Economy." The Palatinate is a region of Southwestern Germany, known for Vineyards and agriculture, as well as the large Palatine Forest. These medals were given to those who had given substantial help to the region.
The medal has a lovely oxidized patina, and the case is in great shape. Ready to display!
