Original Royal Dutch Air Force Model 1964 Officer Dagger by Carl Eickhorn

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This is an excellent condition Royal Dutch Airforce Model 1964 Officer's Dagger (KLu officiers ponjaard 1964). The double edged blade is in near mint condition, the ricasso is nicely maker marked with a Eickhorn squirrel logo and the company name Carl Eickhorn of Solingen, Germany.

The dagger features a beautiful black diagonally angled ribbed grip with double twisted brass wire wrap. The handsome gilt pommel is in form of the Dutch Royal Crown with negative space. The gilded crossguard is in the form of a flying gull. The dagger is complete with the original matched black leather scabbard with gilt fittings. The scabbard  retains an operational release button on the reverse side of the cross guard.

These daggers were made in a very limited number in the early nineteen sixties. Most of these daggers have lost their original gilding making this an exceptional rare and excellent example.
