Original Item: Only One Available. This very USN WWII uniform jacket is featured on page 269-270 in the book U. S. Naval Aviation Flying Clothing and Gear, U. S. Navy Uniforms in World War II Series Volume 2 by Jeff Warner. All of the ribbons on this uniform are the plastic coated type and represent the Distinguished Flying Cross, Purple Heart, Navy Presidential Unit Citation, Navy Unit Commendation, Pacific Theater with two battle stars, American Theater and American Defense. The "W" device attached to the Pacific Theater ribbon represents the defense of Wake Island. As an air crewman on a PBY bringing supplies and evacuating key personnel from the island during the initial stage of the siege, this man was entitled to wear the "W" device.  The jacket features a silver bullion Air Gunner distinguishing mark worn on the right sleeve.
