Original U.S. Pre-WWI Navy M1902 Warrant Officer Visor - Named

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very nice condition U.S. Navy Officer's M-1902 visor cap constructed of dark blue wool, intended to be worn by a Warrant officer (crossed anchor insignia). This example is particularly well made, with the officer's front insignia featuring brass color bullion, with a gilt chinstrap.

The cap features a patent leather visor. The brown leather sweatband is stitched to the body of the hat, and is in very good condition with only partial detach. Inside the liner are the faint initial S.M.K. written in what appears to have been pencil. The crown of the cap is lined with black satin fabric, but unfortunately the top section where the manufacturers mark would be was cut out, probably by the Sailor for better ventilation.

The front of the cap bears the correct Navy crossed anchor insignia, with a gold bullion adjustable chinstrap and two U.S. Navy side buttons. No major moth issues to report, the hat is sound, not crushed or broken. Size sticker is still present with the size being a 7.

A great example to pick up a rare cap from the Pre WWI Era!
