Original Items. Only One Available. This is a gorgeous lot of five variously sized Vietnam War Era artillery training aids which mimic the size of actual artillery pieces, with some having unscrewable fuzes. Some are in great shape and some are very poor. Not Available for Export.
The Five artillery training aids include:
-One 27” tall shell with a fuze labeled FUZE MT SQ M577. The lower body is stamped LOP 2-3 3-67
-One 19” tall shell labeled with yellow letters 105H COMP-B CARTRIDGE M1 W/ SUPPL CHG. Has fuze welded to top labeled 1968 U.S.T. and body of shell is stamped NPK-1-550-1971 15MM HE M1. Good overall shape.
-One 20” long thinner projectile shell labeled 81M TNT CTGM43A1. This example has a fin assembly from which two fins have broken off and are missing, and some of the bottom of the assembly is missing. This one has a small metal pike protruding ⅜” from the bottom.
-Two originally 22” long thinner white painted shells labeled in black letters ILLUM 81M CTG M301A3 AMMO LOT PA-6-68. The smaller shaft above the fin assembly is stamped NAE 1-20 1952 81-MM M-301A1. One of the two examples has lost its entire fin assembly, now only measuring about 18½”.
The set also comes with two CHG M3A1 155MM HOW packs labeled 333 on the sides, and one shorter example with 222 on the sides. Each of the packs have Flash Reducer labeled on the bottom.
This is a really extensive set of Vietnam War Era training aids, ready for further research and display.
