Original Item: These are not U.S. issue, however, they are nearly identical to late 1940 early 1950s production U.S. Navy & Marine H-4 flight helmets by Gentex. These helmets are 1950/60s era French made Type 403M3 flight helmets also by Gentex their subsidiary; SOCAPEX. The 403-M3 was designed directly from the American H-4 flight helmet (shared technology agreement) and is often seen mounted with a boom microphone, which is missing from our helmets. The shell is made from hardened fiber.
Each helmet comes with liner, overall condition good to very good, will show storage age, but minor use wear. Most sizes are large (7 1/2+ 60cm+).

- Converted to U.S. Navy H-4 flight helmet with no problem Review by Law Dog
Price Value Quality
I was tired of wanting a representitive Navy 1950's flight helmet for my collection, only findng myself in a bidding war for very used and abused vintage H-4's.
So, I bought one of these SOCPEX helmets, found the other parts needed and built my own. This is now a very nice copy of the original GENTEX product, and looks just like an unissued Naval aviators helmet for the 1950's.

- Much better condition than expected Review by thx1939
Quality Price Value
I've had a couple of this type helmet and have found them to be in relative poor shape. Not this one! It is in excellent condition. Mine had no cracks or scratches to be concerned with. A little polish should remove the whitish film found on the shell. All-in-all the helmet is a bargain when compared to those on enay listing in the $400 to $500 range.
