Original Item: The P-1853 .577 cal Percussion Rifle was also known as the legendary “Three Band Enfield”. This extremely popular and rare model was the first rifle to become standard issue in the British Army. The P-1853 changed military tactics with its capabilities; imported extensively for use in the U.S. Civil War. A very rare opportunity to own a significant piece of military history that greatly affected wars on three continents.
These P-1853 locks come complete with integral parts and side screws. Integral lock parts include: Lock plate, Hammer, Hammer Screw, Tumbler, Sear, Sear Spring, Bridle, Link, and Mainspring. Brass escutcheons may or may not be present. They have been inspected and are functional (or very close to functional, might be frozen), but as each is handmade, it will require fitting into any stock or barrel configuration. While we do supply the original side screws, the screws could be stripped, detached, slightly bent, or if connected, will most certainly be stuck in place after over 150 years in storage. We refer to these as grade 1 because they are mostly just very greasy/dirty with little rust, however, some pitting and minor rust should be expected.
These are original 150 year old locks in functional (or very close to functional condition, might be frozen). Even if just cleaned and displayed on their own, outside a gun, they will be an impressive part of any antique gun collection.

This lock is great for my enfield. When I got it was coverd in dirt and grease. But after only two hours all the dirt and grime was removed only to find a beautiful lock. This went right to my P53 enfield (also from IMA) Now I have a great muzzle loading rifle to take to the range. Just to let you guys know im not a gun smith, im a 19 year old college student so almost anyone can make these locks work. Now only if IMA would have a sale on Martini Henerys hmmmmm!
