Original U.S. Army WWI Field Surgery Kit Roll - Dated 1917

Item Description

Original Item: Only one set available. This may best be described as a "torture" set. Supplied to the U.S. Army by the G.P. Pilling & Son Company of Philadelphia, U.S.A.

Reads: Contract dated June 15th, 1917

A typical U.S. Army field surgeon's tool roll marked on the exterior Genito Urinary Case but upon unfurling reveals the most bizarre assortment of the most frightening hand tools you can imagine including what wood appear to be a "bone saw". Since when did anyone's Urinary system include the need for a bone saw?

The kit is comprised of 36 tools that are present and perhaps two or three that are now absent. Every instrument is beautifully made and well marked. All are very heavily nickel-plated for sanitary purposes. This must have cost a fortune to manufacture at the time and really opened the eyes of any potential patients.

Totally original, thank God for modern technology, just great for show and tell or date night.

The weirdest Military made quality item we’ve ever seen, just fascinating, just aching to live at your house, for the man with an imagination.
