Original Item: Only One Available. This mortar is one of the most unique pieces of ordnance found in the 2003 cache of arms purchased by IMA from the kingdom of Nepal. Country of origin is unknown, however the quality of the bronze, grade of casting, and style of touchhole lead us to believe it is perhaps Danish. The mortar is marked around the touchhole with a traditional Nepalese design but it was common practice of the Gurkha’s to remove any western markings and replace with Hindu or Native script.
The mount is new made of heavy wood with steel bolts and connections it is an accurate reproduction and solid enough to fire from (as we have already done)!
Another interesting fact is that we have actually fired this mortar! We did so for our upcoming series on the Nat Geo channel, so you won’t only be purchasing a great operationally tested piece of history but a TV celebrity to boot!
