Original Item: Only One Available. This bayonet is very unusual. It is a WW1 German Ersatz M-98/05 Butcher Bayonet with the classic wide front end to the blade however it has been shortened in the blade lenght from 14.5" to 11.5".
The interesting and rare things is that the blade was shortened from the back leaving the original wide section at the front of the blade. We have never seen this before and upon close inspection this bayonet is totally original, not a recent assembly. The bayonet is now 16" overall and comes with the original all steel
modified standard 98/05 Butcher scabbard.
A rare and very unusual variation that would fit into any bayonet collection.
