Original British Colonial .75 cal Tiger Rifle

Item Description

Original Item: Only One Available. This came from the old Palace of Lagan Silikanna in Kathmandu, Nepal in 2003. It started life as a good quality Tiger Rifle in percussion with octagonal Damascus twist barrel heavily rifled measuring 30" and 47" overall length. The rifling is now worn and the rifle was clearly serviced by Nepalese gun makers. The lock bears none of the original British markings but has been marked in local Nepalese Negari script.

There is still evidence of the gold breach bands that originally enhanced the barrel but the whole gun has been completely refinished and restored in Nepal and being in the old palace rather suggests it was used by the Nepalese Royal family in the 1850s. The wood ramrod is no longer present and the forward 2 1/2" of the wood stock has been replaced. In its day this large bore rifle must have packed a hell of a wallop when fired. Ready for Display in your trophy room.
