New Made Item: Genuine brown pebble grain leather 8mm Gewehr 98 rifle ammunition pouch as used by German troops in the trenches of WWI. These are not to be confused with the later K98k pouches that were smaller in size.
Each pouch high quality pouch is comprise of Genuine leather, has heavy white stitching, powder coated steel fittings, and is nicely stamped BERLIN 1916. Generally worn in pairs attached to the outer waist belt on either side of the belt buckle.
The Gewehr 98 (abbreviated G98, Gew 98 or M98) is a German bolt action Mauser rifle firing cartridges from a 5 round internal clip-loaded magazine that was the German service rifle from 1898 to 1935, when it was replaced by the Karabiner 98k. It was hence the main rifle of the German infantry during World War I.
