British Vickers Muzzle Attachment Disk

Original Item: The muzzle attachment disk is a stamped steel cone that is designed to fit against the inner side of the muzzle cone.  IMA has found a small quantity of the disks still in original arsenal grease.  The function of the cone is to protect the surface of the cone from the effects of the powder gases.  The disk was considered a disposable item, and was replaced periodically as it became encrusted with powder residue and corrosion.  Most of the Vickers guns we?ve seen do not have the disk, although it should be included in any complete display.
