Considered by many to be the original pattern for the modern assault rifle, the MP 44 was developed to give German troops fighting in Russia a means of delivering large volumes of fire at the seemingly endless supply of Soviet troops. This sample is in outstanding condition. It is built on an original IMA aluminum receiver with an added cocking handle. It includes an original magazine loading tool, an original take-down tool, and a reproduction of the original operator's manual. Either the operator's manual or the two tools will fit in the accessory compartment in the buttstock. It also includes the original gas piston/operating rod and the original bolt.
