New Made Item: Old New Stock, made in the early 1990s, these are "old/vintage" Reproductions of the very rare early model Brass Cuirassier Heavy Cavalry straight Bladed Sword Scabbards with windows showing the leather covered wood linings.Originally in use before the French Revolution these very decorative but rather delicate scabbards were superseded for combat use with the more common all steel variety. These early style scabbards however were retained for parade use right up until the fall of Napoleon in 1815.Original Cuirassier Swords today often command in excess of $ 2,000 and are very rarely seen with this early model scabbard. These were specially manufactured for IMA in the early 1990s these have laid overlooked for over 15 years and show age, storage dents and deterioration but are fully serviceable.
